Cagiva Mito Fairing - Primer Stage
Compared to the Varadero the Mito has a lot of fairing. The whole thing was a total mess. Luckily my good mate Tom came to the rescue and both of us got stuck into getting them sorted.

It has taken almost two days to get the fairing into a reasonable condition for spraying. As I am also working on the Cagiva Mito as both sets of fairing are being sprayed simultaneously.

Initially my design was going to incorporate a PDA as a dash. That was before the controller went USB. Now that the controller's communication protocol has changed, it complicated the interface to a PDA without USB (No USB HOST on PDA's). Thats when I started to look at other solutions.

We got the battery trays installed, controller wired up, new sprocket, some EV200 Contactors and got her running. We still want to upgrade the batteries to some larger more powerful SLA's. LiFePo is going to happen once I can get some time to research and find some good pricing. The bike runs great now, even WITH lead acid.
I took it to EV Awareness day downtown in Portland, OR and it was quite popular.

At present you are on your own with this one. While you can buy the components for your build it is not yet possible to buy a battery space frame or motor mount, (even from the manufacturers of the motors).
Here is an example of a battery space cage that was created for use in a Honda Varadero 125. This set requires a small modification to the original frame so that it can be fitted. 5X6mm holes and 1X10mm holes need to be drilled in the motorcycle frame before it can be mounted. This space frame holds 96 LifeBATT 3.3V 10Ah cells.
